Annabel tries to break through with the girls, Lilly and Victoria. She also speaks with her bandmates, but this is about both the girls and Lucas, so it may not count. Jean, the girls' aunt, and Annabel also confront one another about custody. Lilly and Victoria also talk to one another and "Mama" is later revealed to be the spirit of a woman named "Edith".

Mama is actually very good for female representation, something I've come to expect from Guillermo Del Toro's films. The male characters in this film often take back seat to the female ones, and the plot focusses heavily on themes of motherhood.

I'm not completely sure but I think this film actually fails the Reverse Bechdel - only two or three men, and they only talk about the girls / Mama.
