A girl (the main protagonist) is turning 16 and has a wish list. On her wish list is only materialistic stuff like a new car, new furniture. A fairy (another female) comes and gives her 16 candles that make wishes come true. The girl has couple of conversations with the fairy over the meaning of wishes in general. She also discusses growing up and taking up responsibilities with her parents (mother is actually talking most of the time). The girl also has a rival at school, another girl, with home she encounter couple of situations. Although the cause of their rivalry happens to be the friendship with a guy they don't discuss how to get him.
