Named female characters include Sakurai and Sugihara's mother Michiko, with Sakurai's mother and sister, the waitress, and the Korean school teacher falling into the "possibly named but if so I didn't notice" category. Remarkably, despite the film including a family dinner with three women present, the only words exchanged between women (other than inaudible giggling between unnamed schoolgirls) is Sakurai's sister telling her "Papa sent me" when she interrupts her and Sugihara with a tray of tea. Marked as dubious because Sakurai's sister is a fairly minor character.
