Bechdel Test Movie List

This movie fails the test. It has two female characters, neither of whom speak to each other at all, and each individually only speaks when speaking to a man in a romantic setting. It features a cast of about twenty men, however, who speak to each other about many things other than women.

The women are also stereotypes: whore and virgin.

Heidi, I agree with what you are saying to a certain point, but for the sake of objectivity, you can't overlook the fact the heart of this movies plot revolves around the adventures of these three BROTHERS. So, what did you expect? Gritty? Yes. Sexist? No. When I force my husband to watch Gossip Girl with me, he doesn't point out that the male characters don't get as much screen time or character development. And in many cases, having on-screen gender equality would distract from the film as it would be historically inaccurate. Things weren't always as good as they are now. Historically, we were seen as virgins or whores. That's just how history was, no matter how ugly.
