Marion Ravenwood is the only notable female character, and she only talks to men.

Marion may be the only notable female, but she isn't the only one with dialogue. Salah's wife sees the monkey and asks where it came from. When Marion sardonically calls it cute, Salah's wife says, "Then it shall be welcome in our home." Marion protests to her.

It may not be much, but I think it satisfies the three rules.

She has a name, too, at least on IMDB. Fayah. So it's a pass, barely.

It still wouldn't pass. Salah's wife doesn't have a name.

The criteria are 1) at least 2 female characters with names who 2) talk to one another, 3) about something other than a man.

It doesn't pass the first test in order to get to the other two.

How may viewers are digging through the credits to find out about peripheral characters? It should be fair to say that a character remains nameless unless they are addressed in the film. As such, I have to side with luminum

Fayah is not addressed as such, but Marion does use her name when talking to (and kissing) Sallah.

Fayah is named in the film. They discuss the monkey, if you arent going to follow your own rules then why have them?

Test 1: Marion and Fayah are both named in the movie. Marion says Fayah's name when she and Sallah are saying goodbye to one another. PASS

Test 2: They both speak to each other at Fayah's home in Cairo. PASS

Test 3: It's about whether or not her family will keep a monkey as a pet. PASS

As others have said, the conversation between Fayah and Marion about the monkey satisfies the three rules.

Obviously it doesn't pass the test. Next to Marion There is no second female storyline in this movie. A conversation about a monkey to a nameless character doesn't apply. Next to that Marion barely has any serious conversations with anyone and is displayed as a stupid young girl who desperately needs saving from the inconsiderate and selfish Indiana Jones. Typical old fashioned story totally made from the perspective of a male.
