Aquamarine definitely passes the test. There are quite a few conversations about men. HOWEVER, there are several that pass the test: Hailey and her mom Ginny talk about moving to Australia and leaving Claire behind; Claire and Hailey talk about the thunder storm, investigating what's in the pool and trying to bait it, about Aquamarine possibly being dangerous, getting Aquamarine new clothes, Hailey moving away/their friendship; Aquamarine talks to Hailey and Claire explaining that she's a mermaid/her powers, her tail and human feet, the ability to have human body/legs, about Hailey's mom being a biologist, Aquamarine spending the night in the water tank, types of earrings which humans and mermaids wear and being friends with them; Cecilia and Aquamarine talk about their names; Cecilia talks to Beth and Patty about Aquamarine being a mermaid.
I'm also pretty sure this movie fails the reverse test since there's only one brief conversations between two named male characters and it was about Claire.

Nellie is right: it passes. There are several conversations between all the named female protagonists that are not about and very plot related (Aquamarine's mermaid nature, Hailey moving to Australia, friendship, etc.)
