Glory, of glories, an animated talking-animal feature with not one, but two female leads! History forced the filmakers' choices here: Belka and Strelka really were the first two space dogs to go into orbit and survive the trip. While one is motivated by a search for her father, that's not all she talks about, and there is no romance except as a minor subplot that feels pretty tacked-on at the end.
