There are two named female characters (and only two, I think!), but I do not think they ever have a conversation.

It passes 2 of 3 tests - 2 female characters with names. Its otherwise a horrible movie.

It does not pass 2 of 3. It passes 1 of three. There are 2 female characters. They do not speak to each other, there for it doesn't pass the second test.

One of the women is a sailir who successfully fires munitions, which I feel is non-tradtional and just great. If there are going to be battle movies, I feel women should be represented as active, just as they are in the modern military.

@wellsnet: I agree that Raikes is awesome, and an awesome character, and a great example of an active woman. That said, the Bechdel test is not about how well the film portrays women. It's meant to be taken literally, sort of illustrating general trends. It's not about whether a movie is good or bad either. It's true that Raikes fires munitions, is non-traditional, and is generally great, but she doesn't talk to another woman during the movie.
