At the beginning a (named) woman gets a promotion, and she talks about it with her female friends.

Becky disagreed with the rating and said:
The woman is portrayed as silly and immature and undeserving of the promotion. Then they run into an elevator and talk about shopping.

Well, like the main page says, "Please keep in mind that a movie scoring a [Smiley] does not mean it is at all "good" or feminist friendly, just that it passes all tests". So I think it does work.

I'm not sure she's portrayed as undeserving either, on the contrary, the boss says she's better than the main character, even though he has been there for years.

One woman is named, but her friends are not. While it may technically pass, I think this rule should be understood as "two named women."

What about Scarlet? Her girlfriend Naiomi talks with her about the divorce. Does that count as being about a man?

Becky: You can't disagree with the rating due merely to its lack of perceived feminist values. A film can be ragingly misogynist and still pass the Bechdel Test. The point is not feminism: it is the marginalisation of *any* representation of women in film. This may seem closely tied to feminism, but the test is what it is for a reason.

It doesn't pass the test because the her girlfriends doesn't have names.

The women who gets promoted shouldn't count because the other women are not named, and talking about the divorce is technically talking about a man.

This rating is correct due to multiple scenes.

At one point, Naomi speaks to Scarlet about her personal hygiene, asking "when was the last time you waxed" and other quips.

At another point, Maggie speaks to Scarlet alerting her to the fact "it's time to go" to a basketball game.
