There are conversation a man, but it's not a romantic interest in him - it's concern for his sanity. But there are also as many discussions about a female... sort of. I'm sure someone will debate this one, even though there are four significant female characters, and a half dozen others who are participatory.

I will debate it. The only conversation I can think of in that movie is the one where Bianca is in the salon and the ladies are discussing a new look for her. But the rest of the conversations between women are about Lars, which don't count, even though they are not talking about him romantically.

The spirit of the test is to celebrate the portrayal of women as they are independent from men.

This story would make it hard to pass the test because the story is dead centered on the title character no matter what the gender of the other characters. Now if it were 'Tonya and the real boy' then it would pass everything completely.

I just watched the film, and as far as I can remember there was not a single conversation that passed the test. A lot of the female characters weren't named, and the only conversations between Karen and Dagmar were about Lars. Even though it wasn't in a romantic context, they were still talking about a man, so the movie fails the test (again, as far as I can remember).
