It passes the test on all 3, but barely. The lady caller is not seen and is hardly a character. More of a living prop. They do highlight the issue of women in media being treated poorly but as always, a Dolly Parton character cannot be beaten down or controlled. She stands up for herself. Not as feminist as 9 to 5 but then it wasn't trying to be.
