As with many silent era films, the characters are named for their roles, but this is so for all characters regardless of gender. Hence in this lovely Chaplin film, the Blind Girl and her Grandmother are both "named" and are in several scenes together, only one of which discusses (via intertitles) a man.

How banging is it that a 1931 silent film using title cards passes the bechdel test? This solidifies that very few movies should (given context, like Das Boot for example) should have women represented properly.

Simon disagreed with the rating and said:
The blind girl and the grandmother only talk about the guy in all the scenes. Except in the beginning, but there the girl only say "hi" to the grandma - not really a conversation
