Aubrey talks to her friend Liz on the phone (Liz appears on screen during the conversation) about blowing off dinner. There are several female characters with major roles in the movie, but this is the only conversation which passes.

There are also brief conversations between Dr. Erin Mears (Kate Winslet) and "Minnesota Health #4" (Tara Mallen). Although it's a sign of something that she's listed as "#4" even though she has more speaking lines than #s 1-3.

While there are strong women roles - since "Liz" wasn't a character (not seen, no actresses playing her) it failed the test.

Liz does appear on screen, is played by a real-life actress, and has several lines speaking to Aubrey. It passes.

I assure you...Liz was a character, named in the movie, who appeared on screen and had a brief conversation with Aubrey. It was even legitimately important to the plot, even if it was only a minor scene.

If the only interaction that makes the movie pass is the phonecall between Aubrey and Liz, count the movie as a failure. They talked about Ellis.
In spite of that, the movie is very fair, with many women in strong roles that would normally be assigned to men.
