A young woman, Katherine, comes to work for disabled middle aged Hester at the farm she runs with her father. Katherine's energy, youth and spirit transform Hester's life. When her father dies, she plans to sell the farm and use the money to take herself and Katherine to Europe. An accident and the disappearance of Hester's inheritance turn this film into a slow burning psychological thriller driven by strong performances.
