1) Passes, there are three named women: Andie, Kathryn, and Tish (Andie and Kathryn can be considered main characters)
2) Passes, Kathryn and Andie talk; Tish and Kathryn talk; and Andie, Tish, and Kathryn have a threeway conversation.
3) Passes easily. Example, Tish and Kathryn, though part of the conversation does talk about a guy, mainly talk about what they aspire to be in the space program and how Tish have a photographic memory; there's a conversation that involves Tish, Kathryn, and Andie (though Kathyrn is listening, she really isn't saying much) about Tish using morse code to contact NASA; but there's several conversations between Kathryn and Andie, such as Andie believing Kathryn has what it takes to be an astronaut (which is why she is hard on her to prepare here) and encouraging Kathryn when she's trying to navigate the shuttle back to Earth.
Andie and Kathryn are probable the better female characters, with Tish (though smart) is stereotypical while Andie and Kathryn are smart and determined women. It's also nice to see a woman (Andie) being supportive and encouraging (though she's still can be hard) towards another woman (Kathryn) instead of tearing her down.
They talk to each other about other things besides men - such as training to be an astronaut, and how to survive their launch in to space/get back to earth. They do briefly talk about men, but it not the main plot of their story/dialog.
