Bechdel Test Movie List

Both the protagonist (the law woman) and antagonist (the owner of the bar) of this movie are female, and they talk to each other about their enmity. I saw this 1950s western movie as a Mystery Science Theater treatment. Although the movie was obviously bad, it was trying, and for a film of its era, it took its female protagonist, the sheriff of the town, remarkably seriously. Most films of this time period drip with misogyny; the relative absence of that in this movie is striking and noticeable. I'm willing to bet that this is one of the oldest films on the list.
