Actually, the mother isn't named in the film. she's only referred to as "mother". It's assumed her name is Mrs. Clifford, but no one calls her by name, and her first name is never used. Also, even if you count her as a named character, despite her not really having much of a role in the movie, it still doesn't count because most of their interactions are one-liners. Despite ample opportunity, they only actually discuss something once in the movie, but the conversation starts with her talking about her boyfriend, danny foster, and even that conversation is less than a minute. At best, I would give this film a 2/3, or more practically a 1/3.
