The only two women in this movie were the mother (Doris)of the two son's and the oldest son's girlfriend (Stacey). The two women barely speak in the movie and are portrayed weak and need help from men.

And while the female characters weren't fleshed out as much as the male characters, I wouldn't say that they are explicitly portrayed as "weak" or "needing protection." (Protection from what, exactly? At no point are any of the female characters in any kind of danger - unless you count pissing off Derek...)

Davina and Stacy don't really have an argument since Derek gets involved before Davida can answer, so she basically yells at him. So there is no conversation between the two women.
