I believe that the only two female characters, Michelle and Abigail, briefly echange a few short lines of dialog before Michelle is rendered comatose by poison gas for most of the movie. Although the cast is rather male-dominated, Abigail is basically the main character, and with all her tomboyish spunk I think she's still a strong female character for girls to relate to.
