Despite its flaws, all the protagonists are female, they're all friends, many of the villains are female too, and the only *sexual* sadism in this is either woman on woman, or man on man. So if your biggest issue with slasher movies is the way they glorify male violence against helpless women, then this one might be a refreshing change. The violence in this is more egalitarian. Of course, if it's the blood and gore that you find offensive, stay far away.
BTW Hostel: Part II has the most satisfying ending of any horror movie I've ever seen.
