I think the genre of movie this film belongs to presents a unique situation... if it's lesbians should they be tested on whether or not they talk about men? I understand the premise of the test, but much talk of men in sexually or romantically motivated in films and hence not applicable.

The girls who identify as lesbians do talk about men to each other. Namely Megan's boyfriend when they ask her if she is attracted to him and if they have had sex and she says I'm a christian, Hilary then says it's really easy to be a prude when you aren't attracted to him...

@Lucid: The test seems intended to measure the involvement/foregrounding of women in film, not to address discussions of love/sex. If lesbians are talking about sexual or romantic entanglements with other women, that still totally passes. It's still about women outside the realm of their relation to men.

The film does pass the Bechdel Test since it does include two women, Megan and Graham who talk about other topics other than men. They actually don’t talk about men that often in “But I’m A Cheerleader” rather the two of them talk more about how they feel about each other, personal thoughts, etc. Much of the time it was more of a build up in their relationship, how they were hostile strangers meeting up for the first time to having a relationship in the very end and kissing on the back of a pickup truck.

I believe that this film does pass the Bechdel test because it has at least two women (Megan and Graham) who talked to each other about something other than men. This is shown after the two of them have sex and Megan says to Graham that hse has never felt that way before, other than when Megan was cheerleading.
