The movie centers around two relationships: the one between the teenage female characters Tracy and Evie, and the one between Tracy and her mother. Thus, a significant majority of the dialogue is between women, and men play a peripheral role both as characters and as topics of conversation.

In many scenes of this movie there are 2 female protagonists who talk to each other about drugs, shop-lifting, fashion, school, and makeup. Passes the Bechdel Test

I agree that this movie passes the bechdel test with flying colors. This movie is about Tracy and Evie. They are teenage girls who are figuring out their way navigating school, boys, growing up and parental relationships. There are many scenes throughout the movie that the girls have conversations that do not involve men.

This film definitely passes the Bechdel Test. Just in the first seven minutes, Tracy wants to read her mom the poem she has been working on. She starts to read it to her and then her mom talks to her about how she needs to go to a meeting. She listens to the poem and comments on how heavy yet beautiful it is. Then she goes on to tell her mom that she can’t babysit Kayla while she goes to her meeting. In another scene just a minute later, they are in Tracy’s room when her mom asks her why she’s getting rid of her clothes. There are tons of other scenes in the movie that pass the test. It’s also worth noting that we learn five different female character names just in the first ten minutes of the film.
