The film has more than two named female characters in it, at least if Rachael, Pris and Zhora ("replicants") are viewed as women, which I think they should be. In any case, two women never talk to each other in the film.

jake disagreed with the rating and said:
Two women, Luv and Lieutenant Joshi have an extended conversation on the whereabouts of a replicant child of unknown gender--Assuming replicants have gender this should allow Blade Runner 2049 to pass the Bechdel test.

Jake - note the "1982" next to the movie's title. Also note that Michael's rating is from 2008. This is about the original Blade Runner, not the sequel.

Well, yes it was a 1980s movie, but it is a futuristic prediction of life in 2019. So the female lead should have been stronger.
