The film is about two young women, one an Orthodox Jew, the other a devout Muslim, who bond as first-year teachers at a NYC public school. They bond in part over their mutual expectations of arranged marriages for them, as well as their adjustments as adults to the traditions of their families, their work in the school and the occasional annoyance of the school's secular-evangelist principal.
