Bechdel Test Movie List

There are two main female characters in Rio, and only due to their direct relationship with the male lead. Linda, Blu's caretaker, and Jewel, Blu's love interest. Other females include Eva, the mate of side character Rafael (who is depicted briefly in a wife-and-mother role and never shows up again) and Chloe and Alice, two Canadian geese who have one scene at the start of the film in which they mock Blu through a window. Incidentally, they are seen together and are voiced by Wanda Sykes and Jane Lynch, two known lesbian actresses. Whether coincidental or not, the well-worn character tropes of caretaker, love interest, spouse-on-the-sidelines that never actively participates in the film's story, and two-females-alone-together-oh-they-must-be-lesbians are so apparent in this film it's almost comical (not really).
