Tiara disagreed with the rating and said:
There's only one conversation between Penny and her mother, where Penny says that she misses "him" (referring to Bolt). I can't seem to find any other part in the movie where two women have a conversation about anything. The rating on this movie should be 2/3.

I agree with Tiara. I rewatched this movie and I was unable to find many conversations between two women. Besides the ones between Penny and her mom (does she even have a name)about Bolt, there is one where the Mindy from management asks Penny to let Bolt go and accept the replacement Bolt. This is still about Bolt. Rating should be 2/3

I do agree that it should be a 2/3 rating, though I will give the perhaps funny observation that -- in the context of a movie where the point of view never shifted to a sentient talking animal -- this would pass just fine. And in fact, in the context of the movie he is just an animal who we happen to be able to hear the voice of (the humans think of him as just an animal).

Basically:
Two girls talk about a dog (regardless of dog's sex) = fine
Characters view dog as merely an animal = true
Perspective shifts to the dog having a speaking role, despite no alteration of the human character's perception of reality = messes the whole thing up.

It's sort of hard to say whether this passes the test or not. I'm gonna go with it passes 2/3 of the tests.

Penny and Mindy talk to each other, but only about Bolt. Bolt is male, but he's also a dog. So it's hard to say whether or not that counts since he's not human, but since he does speak and is sentient I'm going to say it doesn't fully pass the test.
