There are plenty women in this movie, many of which talk to each other... and it's all about whether the main character is going to get laid and/or find her Twoo Wuv.

There are a few conversations between women in this movie about things other than men. It is obviously not perfect, but I think it deserves a :)

I know there are at least two conversations not about men or sex or love. Steph has a conversation to an old lady where she works (I *know* the old lady has a name, I believe it's Margret but I don't remember) about the woman's daughter. Oona also has a conversation with a little girl patient (who is also named) about her braces. I can't recall their names off the top of my head since it's been awhile when I watched it.

Also, I would like to add that most of the conversations by men between men are also about women, sex and love. So, the entire movie pretty much has all the characters bound to those subject lines.

Nellie, I don't think your two examples should count, because a girl isn't a woman, and the old lady seems to have Alzheimer's and doesn't even know who she's talking to.

I suppose, though, that in the scene with the girl with the braces, the doctor and the assistant do talk to each other about whether it's appropriate to take the girl's braces off that day, when she's supposed to have one month left with them on. But it's not at all a plot-relevant conversation and is very short.

A: Why this test should rename "women" to "female/female identified." If we're going to make a film fail the test because girls (who are female, characters and count as people) have discussions with female adults or each other, then the very basic test is being given too many rules.

Also, I mean, you can't fault a conversation for not being plot related. The test is so basic. A film could be about nuclear war and the movie passes the test by having two named women have a 3 minute discussion about cleaning up garbage.

The old woman is questionable but I think it still counts because they are having a conversation and she thinks she talking to her daughter, who is a woman.

Why do so many commenters bring up "plot relevance" in these threads. There is no such requirement in the test. The Bechdel test is clearly very much a baseline heuristic, not a gold seal of non-problematicity.
