There are four main female characters, British in the 1920's. Different ages and classes. They have various conversations about taking a holiday to a castle in Italy. Then they have conversations while at the castle. Delightful movie. There is also a 1935 version which I have not seen.

One of my favorite movies. Four women with various reasons to vacation together, look in to themselves and discover solutions to life's dissatisfactions. Beautifully filmed and acted. I tell people it's the best film where "nothing happens" just a lot of thinking, sitting and talking. But so much DOES happen.
