I agree with the rating, and further agree with the linked review, though I think it overlooks another compelling reason: if the lesbian storyline had been followed, it would be yet another film reinforcing the idea that any strong, independent female MUST be a lesbian. Instead, we have an average girl, like my daughter, taking control of her own life and following her own dreams without stereotyping her.
