There is more than one female, it's just more than one female HORSE (Rain and Spirit's mother), not female HUMAN. So I think this movie should be a 1 of 3 instead of 0 of 3.

No, I'd say the rating is correct since Rain is the only named female character in the entire movie. I don't think Spirit's mother ever has a proper name.

Spirit's mother is named Esperanza, but she's never called that in the movie (I think she might be named in the credits). There's merchandise that calls her by that name, too.

I think this should get a 1 out of 3. While Spirit's mother is never named, most of the horses aren't. Most likely because they communicate with neighs and whinnies. Spirit himself doesn't get his name within the last 10 minutes of the film. His mother is still important and seen repeatedly, differentiating her from Brown Horse #2, and she is named in outside materials and merchandise.

Its 1/3, in a movie where most of the mains are horses and don't talk , naming them in a believable scene would be pretty hard. Spirit's mother got a official name and i think we should allow it considering most characters don't speak.

Naming a wild horse in a movie just so it counts would be silly and horses having a conversation would also be silly so this movie was damned from the start.
