While the two main female characters never interact with each other, there is a point in the movie where three unnamed women discuss Charlie behind his back. Two of them are very blatantly flirting with him, while the third has no interest in him at all. The conversation is, admittedly, blatant exposition, revealing that Charlie hasn't been out on the water since his brother died. There is also another point, right at the beginning, where Tess and her unnamed sailing partner discuss Charlie as he sails into the lead, but that one is all of 3 lines.

So the movie passes the 2nd test, but barely.
