There is conversation between female characters in only one scene, when Belle is locked up in her room and is offered a tea by Mrs. Potts, and talks to Wardrobe about (dressing for) dinner.

Mrs. Potts: "Cheer up, child. It'll turn out all right in the end. You'll see. Oh, listen to me... jabberin' on while there's a supper to get on the table."

The three ladies enamored with Gaston talk with each other too, about Gaston of course.

Belle and Mrs. Potts do chat, and it's entirely focused on her predicament, brought on by the beast, and the merits of her having dinner...with the Beast.

... well, in their defense, the movie IS called Beauty and the Beast. It's supposed to be about their relationship. Thus, it makes sense for them to discuss problems brought on by the Beast.

I'm fairly certain that "Wardrobe" is not the woman's name.

Renee, the Wardrobe's name is given in the musical as Madame de la Grande Bouche. I don't believe she's named in the movie, though.

Also, the female characters in question are a wardrobe and a teapot. Not quite the same as two women.

The non-human characters are all humans who are under a magic spell. The wardrobe and the teapot are indeed women.

All conversations revolved around the prince and Belle's father. And the name needs to be mentioned in the move; the play doesn't count here.

Is that true that the name actually needs to be mentioned in the film? I think there have been instances where a character's name has only been mentioned in the credits or off-screen by the creators.

Anyway, it's true that the Wardrobe is never given a "proper" name. In the film at least.

I don't know if this counts as a dialogue, but it's definitely not about the Beast:

BELLE: Who is it?

MRS. POTTS: (from outside the door)
Mrs. Potts, dear.
(Door opens.)
I thought you might like a spot of tea.

BELLE: (amazed at the fact that she is listening to a walking tea set)
But you...ah...but...I--
(BELLE bumps into the WARDROBE)

I agree with the rating.. it passes, though just barely. Even if you think the scene with Ms. Potts doesn't count because belle mentions her father, and because chip (a little boy) was involved in the conversation, the conversation belle has with wardrobe after chip and ms. potts leave counts...
Wardrobe: well now what shall we dress you in for dinner... let's see what i've got in my drawers.... oh! how embarrasing, haha, oh let's see, ah you'll look ravishing in this one!

belle: that's very kind of you, but i'm not going to dinner.

wardrobe: but you must!



and i would argue that wardrobe is the characters name, because all the characters are named after what they have turned into, ex: lumiere - is french for light/lamp.... etc etc.

If all the characters are aliens, animals or robots, it doesn't matter.

If they are portrayed as female (like Ms. Potts) then their conversation counts.

However. I agree that the conversations are all about whether Belle will have dinner with the Beast.
