There are two women, but they never meet each other.

In part two, Xiao Qiao and Sun Shangxiang briefly exchange words during the planning session before the final battle. I don't know if it qualifies as a conversation as Qiao only asks Shangxiang to put some clothes on and Shangxiang ignores her.

Shang Xiang returns from the enemy camp, and Xiao Qiao greets her. The exact exchange is:

"Shang Xiang! You're back!"

"Xiao Qiao."

[Shang Xiang opens her robes, revealing a map of the enemy camp wrapped around her]

"Shang Xiang?"

"Xiao Qiao, take this [indicating the end of the map]. Go ahead, pull it."

It's brief, but it's there.

There are two named women who very clearly have names and use them to speak to each other indicating, independently of their familial bonds through marriage, that they know each other prior to their meeting and communication with each other. To claim these named women with agency do not even meet seems like a major omission.

Each of these women, in their own story within the epic film, literally shape the outcome of a war of roughly “one million” soldier (based on the film’s claim as to the size of the armies).
