There are many female characters; they talk to each other about something besides a man. For example Lizzie and Jane talked about Lydia's elopement, etc.

Does this really count as a film though? It was a serialised, made for tv, broadcast on tv, and all the episodes together add up to over 5 and a half hours.

You could change the date to 2005, which was a film, and it still passes all three tests.

Lydia Presley disagreed with the rating and said:
Although technically, Lizzie and Jane talking about Lydia's elopement was also about a man (Wickham)

It doesn't make any sense to disagree with the rating. There are a whole bunch of female characters who talk to each other, and not always about men. For instance, when Lady Catherine de Bourgh first meets Elizabeth, she interviews her about her sisters. Or in another scene, the two Bingley sisters talk about Elizabeth while Jane is ill.

Sure, most of the conversation between Lizzie and Jane are all about man. What about when Lady Catherine ask Elizabeth about her family upon arrival or the scene when she tell Elizabeth to play piano ? What about Maria's and Elizabeth's conversation when they saw Mrs Jenkinson and Miss Anne de Bourgh sitting in the carriage? What about Charlotte and Elizabeth talking about needing fresh air and exercise and to go to the woods around Rosings? hmm more.. and more

Why are you so concerned about the test, and not even take into consideration the fact that it is still a very brilliant movie (2005) as well as the time it portrays is not really 21st century. whatever they are talking about, even men, it is quite progressive for that time.

The reason they're concerned with the test is because the website you're on is literally called bechdeltest.com, and is a message board for talking about the bechdel test for various movies etc.
