Bechdel Test Movie List

There are multiple named women, Kerry, Amanda, Laura, and Addison. There is one scene where Addison finds a picture of Daniel and Eric Matthews together and she talks with Amanda briefly about it. Even though the picture is of two men, the conversation is about the fact that it is a clue rather than about men, though its status as a Bechdel test pass is complicated by this as well as by Daniel's entrance into the conversation.

It clearly passes. The conversation in question here between Amanda, Laura, and Addison started before discussion of the picture, and speaking about the picture as a clue ("x marks the spot") came before discussion of those pictured. The conversation moves quickly and includes an interjection by Daniel, so I agree that it may be a bit dubious when we consider the "each other" bit of "talking to each other", but I do think that it passes.

Everyone is mostly correct above, but for the sake of clarity, this is the convo - scene starts with named women talking about not a man, not a dubious-del in the least! In fact, it's a rare TRIPLE-DEL! And not a moment too soon, either *SPOILER ALERTY* cuz Laura dies in the next minute and we don't have even a close-del for the rest of the film...

I've included the lines leading up that photo discovery (which I would say is a separate-able convo) because I like that Daniel believes Amanda about her experience in a film where the victims are being nerve-gas(lighted) #feminism -


[Addison stumbles around a corner. Behind her, Laura sinks down on the ground, barely breathing or moving. Amanda tries to help her]

Amanda: Oh, shit.

Addison: No. We can’t stop.

[Amanda rolls the dying Laura on her back]

Amanda: Shit.

[Laura seems to see something]

Laura: (mumbling) Oh, my God…

Addison: We’ve been here for two hours. If what that tape says is true, then in one hour, the… the front door will open.

Amanda: (holding Laura’s head) We’re not gonna make it that long.

Addison: That’s a real winning attitude.

Daniel: She knows what she’s talking about.


EDIT - frustratingly enough, after a skim through the transcript, I don't think Laura and Addison are named out loud :( but they're named in the credits (which are unarguably part of the film, cf Xanadu) and are given last names somewhere else in the canon. So, it's a Mixed Triple Credits-del, cuz Amanda is named... still don't think it should be dubious 3/3 :P
