There are four named female characters in the movie:

Alex and Susi (Doug's daughters)
Pauline (counter girl at the bookie's)
"Mum O'Neil"

All of whom have speaking lines. They don't talk to each other (well maybe the twins), but it does pass the first test.

geohawk nailed it. It's at least 1/3.

Can't debate the rest, but "Mum O'Neil" is not a name.

And, you're probably right that it should get 1/3, but only on a technicality. The actual screen time of these women is absolutely negligible.

Clearly passes the first criterion. Too long since I've seen it to say anything beyond that.

I would also disagree with the previous poster that Mum O'Neil is not a name. It may not be a full, legal name but I don't think that's what the test asks for either.

Agree with Kirsty, even none of the extras were women. The screen-time of the women would amount to less than 5 minutes, and that’s a generous estimate. Role of the women were also very linked to a main male character: the mother, the daughters- not as individuals but resigned to those roles.
