Bechdel Test Movie List

Although the movie is largely concerned with one woman's attempt to reach a remote Scottish island for her wedding, and many conversations concern this, or her husband to be, or the man everyone can tell she really should be with, there are various other scenes containing conversations between her (Joan) and other women, most notably Catriona.

As I recall, most of her conversations with Catriona are about Torquil...but I could be wrong.

There is Catriona's comment that she hasn't heard "any intelligent female nonsense" for a long time. But at the most basic, there is Joan asking Bridey the way to "the House," and Mrs. Robinson talking to Cheryl.

Bridie yells at Joan for being rich and selfish. Catriona asks Joan to skin a rabbit and tells Joan there's a fire in her bedroom so she'll sleep there and tells her about counting the beams and praying. Joan says she won't be praying.
