To add insult to injury, Romulan ambassador MUST fall in love with Terran ambassador.

This isn't a spoiler - the movie's over 20 years old, it isn't even part of the plot, and the newer generations of Star Trek fans know everything about the series before they can read.

I don't think a Romulan having a drink with a Terran qualifies as falling in love. But this is the worst of the original Star Trek films both in terms of story telling and sexism. There are fewer named women here than any other Star Trek movie in all 12 or 13 of them. Uhura is once again used as a sex object then stuck in the background to do absolutely nothing. Theres a cat girl who gets beaten and probably killed, and never has a name. There dont seem to be too many women in the angry cult/mob.
Its just failure all around.
