This was one of my favorite movies in jr. high, but it is truly silly, and probably offensive to Wiccans. There's really only one male love interest, and the rest of the focus is on power, equality, physical appearances, money, and depression. Lots of ground covered, and an awesome 90s soundtrack.

I find this one interesting as a case of a sort-of reverse Bechdel test. There is, of course, more than one male in the movie, but all they ever talk about on-screen is women.

Plot is completely female-driven, not to mention original, even if it does deal with men sometimes, it does so as just a part of the high school experience as a whole. Bonnus: it's a drama/thriller/horror in which none of th girls are the victims (even though their characters have insecurities and flaws, which are ultimately overcome in the end)It passes with flying colors

As a Wiccan, this movie gets more right than it does wrong. One of the best movies about witchcraft out there and a beloved film among pagans. As a woman, I love that this is a female-driven movie that portrays complex, powerful women and explores female friendships.
