The Director and Nimona exchange some short lines, and so do Nimona and (spoiler!) Gloreth. While it can easily be argued that Nimona is genderfluid, in the interactions with the Director and Gloreth she presents as a girl. The female characters are well-developed, and Nimona is without a doubt the heart of the movie.
