The story is about a traveling theater troupe in the wild west. The leading lady, Angela Rossini, loses herself to a gunslinger in a poker game, putting herself in a love triangle as she gathers the money to pay him.
Other than Angela, there are two other female characters: Della Southby and Lorna Hathaway. These two talk often to each other, but the topic is always men to some degree or another. Even when they talk about Angela, it's about her relationships with men.
