Jo: You're going to the hospital.
Aunt Meg: OK, I'll go, but I'm gonna drive myself.

Melissa: Uh... it was nice meeting you.
Aunt Meg: Likewise. You better run.

Jo: Scientists have been studying tornadoes forever, but still nobody knows how a tornado works. We have no idea what's going on inside because no one's been able to take scientific measurements from inside the funnel. That's what [Dorothy]'s going to do.
Melissa: How?
Jo: We put her up inside the tornado.

Aunt Meg: Jo, it's gonna happen to somebody else. You go stop it.
Jo: I don't know how.
Aunt Meg: Oh, I think you do. You've been chasing these things since you were a little kid. It's what you do. Go, do it.

I am not necessarily disagreeing with either of your ratings.

My 'disagreement' comes from knowing there should be a distinction made in this test between female characters that TALK to each other, and female characters that have FULL CONVERSATIONS with each other. I think 'full conversations' was the original intention of Ms. Bechdel anyways. There are lots of movies where female characters literally just talk to each other, say things to each other. That is not what should be tested.

@R.C.
What is lacking in films and what should be tested is full conversations i.e. a beginning, middle, and end, between 2 or more named female characters, and the conversations are not about men, and they do not physically involve men joining in.

@Renee
a female character literally just saying anything to another female character
"hi! how are you?"
"good! how are you?"
"good!"
does not count as conversation.
