Bertha and her mother-in-law (no first name) bicker over baby Henry.

Bertha interviews Mademoiselle Yvette Blanchard (name is not in credits but it is spoken in the movie) for a maid's position. They discuss references and negotiate wages. They agree the maid will also tutor Henry in French to justify the higher pay.

Martha talks with her estranged mother (no first name) about her trip out to Kansas, but the whole conversation is tinged with the fact that they're estranged because Martha married Henry instead of Albert.

All of these are minor moments--Henry and Martha are the main characters--but the movie does pass based on Bertha's conversation with Mademoiselle Blanchard.
