This 1949 film, "Come to the Stable," qualifies in its first scene and throughout, with conversations between and among four named female characters (Sister Margaret, Sister Scholastica, painter Amelia Potts, and singer/actress Kitty Blaine) and assorted others about everything from money, religious topics (2 are nuns), fundraising, buying land, paintings, art, changing tires, tools, tennis, food, driving a jeep, staying healthy and motivated, and many others. Remarkable film in its focus on its female characters' power and influence that is acknowledged and celebrated (though at times somewhat reluctantly) by its other characters as well.
