Bechdel Test Movie List

There is a whole scene dedicated to two named female characters trying out gadgets from Tail's backpack.

I wish they would have tested different kinds of gadgets if you know what I'm saying. ;)

I think that in this particular circumstance, it’s a bit difficult for the writers to include a convo between two women without straying too far off the plot. There’s just three named female characters, that being Maddie, her sister Rachel, and Rachel’s daughter Jojo. These are all original characters to the plot of Sonic. Since Sonic was made for young boys in the 1980s (?), I don’t they were exactly concerned for developing female characters. I think that Maddie and Rachel are both well developed, but the conflict in their relationship is Tom, Maddie’s husband, which Rachel disapproves on. We never figure out why Rachel dislikes Tom so much, at least not yet. I hope we get to see more of them, and depending on where the movies go, more named female characters.

Not too far off with the years. Sonic's first game was in 91. The Sonic cast has a good amount of female characters. The ones who will likely appear next are Amy Rose, Rouge the Bat and Maria Robotnik, but there are others like Blaze the Cat, Cream the Rabbit, Wave the Swallow, Sticks the Badger, etc. .
