For a film produced and released in the 1970s, this is a fantastic example of a film which not only passes the test, but excels at it. It is one of a only tiny percentage of films (as of 1976) with a Female Lead Character and a Female Secondary Character. Lengthy portions of the film consist of dialogue which passes the test, as the majority of the characters driving the story are female. It is also notable that the film features a moving and sympathetic story arc for a male supporting character (Ben, Annabelle's little brother) which has become uncommon in modern films which are produced with a focus on female inclusive characters.
