Shu An's mother picks her up from the police station and brings her home. Even though we see them interact throughout the film and Shu An's mother does talk to her, Shu An never says a word back to her.
Later, when Shu An makes the fateful phone call to Li-shen, there is a conversation between Shu An and Yu-fen, but it's ostensibly about a man, Li-shen.
