Bechdel Test Movie List

The film, After, is about an 18 year old girl named Tessa who is going off to her first year of college. Along the way, she meets this boy named Hardin who overall, it not a good guy. He is the opposite of what Tessa likes in a boy as she already had a boyfriend at the time she met Hardin. She felt attracted to Hardin and decides to break it off with her boyfriend at the time, Noah so she can be with Hardin. The entire film is based on this attraction between Hardin and Tessa. There are little female characters who play big roles in the film besides Tessa. There are occasionally Tessa's mom and Hardin's friends, Molly and Steph and Tristan, but Tessa never really has a sit down conversation with any of them for more than a minute. And when they do talk, Hardin's name is mentioned every time.

this movie definitely doesn't pass the test, Tessa's life basically revolves around Hardin and EVERY conversation she has with someone else is about....HIM.

There is no way this movie passes I mean the title and all the movie is devoted to Tessa's life ''after'' she met Hardin. I'd like the rater to point out which conversation they referred while saying it passes. I am guessing Tessa's goodbye dialog with her mom at the first 15 mins of the movie but I am fairly certain she was warning her about boys and parties during that too therefore does not count.

After definitely did not pass the test.

The whole movie is her debating whether Hardin is right for her and revolves around him an his bad decisions towards Tessa therefore does not pass the test.
