Well...with the obvious exception of Heidi Klumb, but she's an extreme example.
Anyway, there are plenty of other examples of discussions between Sister (Thelma) that don't have to do with men or issues like pregnancy. They discuss Americus being kidnapped, who might have kidnapped her, the storm that's coming, and Novalee's photo shoot.
Mrs. Ortiz (who is not named in the film) talks with Novalee about sister, and also named her daughter, Rosita, when she asks her to help her in the storm cellar. Rosita and Americus talk to one another during the storm.
I like this scene, but then I also have a problem with it. Novalee's rampant willingness to pull her own weight after going through so much is inspiring, but I don't know a single woman in real life who lost all that pregnancy weight in one month.
