Most of the characters are male. One of the victims, the first ghost, is a little girl who doesn't really speak to anybody.
The female teacher thanks Frankie for carrying loads of books to her car. Amanda, who is the aunt of Melissa, one of the kid victims, does some exposition concerning her story and what happened to her sister and niece, but she does it to Franklin. The grandmother tells her grandson off because he had supposedly left the window open all night. Michie's mother speaks to Mr. Williams.
